Hallie “Poonie” Joseph Toups May 23, 1943 September 12, 2010 Hallie “Poonie” Joseph Toups a native of Berwick and a resident of Amelia passed away on Sunday, September 12, 2010 at Teche Regional Medical Center. Poonie loved to spend time and support his children and grandchildren activities especially taking them camping, hunting, boating and fishing. Poonie was also know as a very hard worker and one of the best burners at Moveable Offshore years ago. Ponnie will be missed by all his family and friends. Poonie is survived by his wife, Marie David Toups of 44years; Children: Marcie Acosta, Hallie Shane Toups and Chad Toups; two grandchildren: David Joseph Dingler and Payton Hebert; four brothers: Clarence, Lawrence, Louis Jr. and Larry Toups; four sisters: Beatrice Thompson, Gloria Adams, Patsy Carter and Helen Blanco. Poonie was preceded in death by his parents, William and Basatine Blanchard Toups; three brothers: Frank, Sidney, and Louis Toups Sr.; sister, Lula Driskill and one grandchild, Ryan Shane Toups. Visitation will be held at Twin City Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 14, 2010 starting at 9am until 11am with a service beginning at 11am. Poonie will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Mausoleum following the service.
