Allen Lee DeHart, 71, a resident of Bayou L’Ourse, passed away peacefully, Saturday, October 16, 2021. Allen was born October 12, 1950, in Houma, the son of Willis William DeHart Sr. and Marie Landry DeHart. Allen proudly served in the Army. He was an outdoorsman, who enjoyed going fishing and shrimping. He also enjoyed having friends and family over, where he would boil crabs and crawfish, or fry different foods in his “man-cave.” Allen was always cutting his grass, and he was very proud of his green tractor. He loved his two grandchildren and spoiled them tremendously. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife, Gay LeBlanc DeHart of Bayou L’Ourse; one son, Paul DeHart Jr. and wife Rhonda of Bayou L’Ourse; five siblings, Paul DeHart of Morgan City, Linda Lirette of Bayou Vista, Freeman DeHart of Patterson, Daile Bergeron of Morgan City, and Tex DeHart and wife Kim of Bayou L’Ourse; two grandchildren, Katie DeHart Nguyen and husband Coklin of Baton Rouge, Joshua DeHart of Bayou L’Ourse; four god-children, James Lirette, Scott LeBlanc, Dusty DeHart, and Jacob Hoffpauir; numerous nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law. Allen was preceded in death by his parents, Willis and Marie DeHart; brother, Willis “Duke” DeHart Jr.; two brothers-in-law, James Lirette and Isaac Bergeron; three sisters-in-law, Deanna Hillebran, Linda DeHart and Rose DeHart. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 19, 2021, at Twin City Funeral Home with Russell LeBlanc and Arthur LeBlanc speaking. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 18, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Twin City Funeral Home, and again Tuesday, October 19, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services. After services, Allen will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery, where military honors will be rendered.
