Alton Anthony Prestenbach

Alton Anthony Prestenbach, 94, a resident of Morgan City, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Alton was born on October 31, 1928. He was the son of Urban and Ena Prestenbach.

Alton was loved and known by many as “Alto, Sunny or Chief”. Alton was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He served in the National Guard as a Sergeant. Alton was a devout member of the Holy Cross Catholic Church where he proudly served as an usher of the church. Alton worked 30 years as a Chief Engineer at Mobil Oil. After retiring, he enjoyed gardening on his property in Bayou L’Ourse and spending time at his camp.

He will be missed and lovingly remembered by his son, Holly Prestenbach and his wife Thelma. Daughter, Robin Richard, and her husband Gerald. Eight grandchildren, Dwayne Richard and his wife Desiree, Casey Richard, and his companion Jaci Alfred, Heath Prestenbach Sr. and his companion Alaina Boudreaux, Roderick Prestenbach Sr and his companion Susan Roche, Kelli Payne, and her husband Nicholas, Dusten Prestenbach, Frank Adams, Jacob Liner, and his wife Mindy. He also had 11 great grandchildren.

The family of Alton Prestenbach would like to the thank Hope Hospice in Houma, La. for the great care given to Alton, Especially, to Emily and Rene. We would also like to thank his neighbors Mac and Rosey.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife Mayola Boudreaux Prestenbach, son, Todd Prestenbach, his parents Urban and Ena Prestenbach and birth parents Ceccillian and Armina Girior. Also, preceded in death by 7 brothers and 6 sisters. Including his younger sister Ena Jean Prestenbach.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, April 17, 2023, at Holy Cross Catholic Church. Visitation will be held Monday, April 17, 2023, at Holy Cross Catholic Church from 9:00 a.m. until time of the services. After services, Alton will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery. Pallbearers are, Dwayne Richard, Casey Richard, Heath Prestenbach Sr., Roderick Prestenbach Sr., Dusten Prestenbach, Aidan Richard. Honorary pallbearers will be Heath Prestenbach Jr and Roderick Prestenbach Jr.
