Audry Dozar Plaisance

Audry D. Plaisance, 85, a resident of Bayou Vista, passed away on Sunday, December 31, 2017 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Audry was born October 18, 1932 in Madisonville the daughter of Hampton Dozar Sr. and Zelma Johnson Dozar.

Audry was a very selfless person and always put others before herself. She loved spending time with her family, but it was her grandchildren who held a very special place in her heart. She loved to cook for her family and had a meal prepared every Sunday afternoon that would look like a Thanksgiving Day meal to some. She loved sitting at her window watching the birds and squirrels eat at the bird feeders. When she wasn’t taking care of her family, she loved taking trips to the casino.

She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband of 65 years, Roger Plaisance of Bayou Vista; five children, Hope Mijares and husband Luis of Scottsboro, Alabama, Darryl Plaisance and wife Wanda of Patterson, Pam Worley and husband Chris of Destin, Florida, Stacy Plaisance of Bayou Vista, Tammy Plaisance and husband Whitney of Bayou Vista; 13 grandchildren, Gary Plaisance, Allison Mitchell, Amy Lantier, Clarence Mitchell and wife Sedonia, Alexander Plaisance, Kelly McEloy and husband Slade, Cody Zimmerman, Addison Plaisance, Catlin Plaisance and wife Ashley, Amanda Hardy and husband Adam, Andrew Plaisance, Michael Mijares, Arianna Plaisance; 13 great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Sue Cubbege of St. Augustine, Florida and Billie Plaisance of Berwick; numerous nieces and nephews.

Audry was preceded in death by her parents, Hampton and Zelma Johnson Dozar; three brothers and one sister.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:10 p.m. on Friday, January 5, 2018 at St. Bernadette Catholic Church with Father William Rogalla celebrating Mass. A visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. in the parish hall with a Rosary being prayed at 11:30 a.m. Following Mass Audry will be laid to rest in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum in Patterson.
