Barbara Smithson

Barbara (Carrie) Guillory Smithson, 81, passed away March 10, 2023 at home surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was born on December 4, 1941 to the late Mack and Emilena (Gaudet) Guillory Sr., she was a native of Bayou Pigeon, Louisiana and a resident of Bayou L’ourse, Louisiana.

Barbara enjoyed going dancing, playing bingo, playing cards, throwing dice, playing on her Ipad and going to the casino. She loved drinking coffee, cooking and being with her loving family.

Her loving memory lives on with her two sons, Chad Guillory (Amanda) of Jena, Louisiana and Brett Guillory (Tanna) of Bayou L’ourse, Louisiana. Six grandchildren, Chad Guillory Jr. (Kaylee), Misty Guillory Bracamontes (Logan), Cody Guillory (Melissa), Destiny Guillory Riley (Ben), Jenna Guillory Favre (Donovan), Brett Guillory Jr. and 16 great-grandchildren with one on the way. Her siblings, Genevieve Guillory Hebert (Evert), Mary Jane Guillory Roucher, Ory Guillory, Mackery Guillory Jr. (Dianna), Marlin Guillory, Mary Ann Guillory Giroir and Richard Guillory (Patricia). She was also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Alongside her parents, Barbara is preceded in death by her husband, Edward Smithson. A sister, Rita Ann Guillory and her twin brother, Harrie Guillory Sr.

A Celebration of Life will be held on March 13, 2023 from 10:00a.m. to 2:00p.m. at Twin City Funeral Home in Morgan City, Louisiana.
