Bruce Louis Bordelon, 79, a resident of Bayou Vista, passed away peacefully, Sunday, January 12, 2025, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Bruce was born March 8, 1945, in New Orleans, the son of Avery Jospeh Bordelon and Hannah LaBorde Bordelon.
Bruce proudly served in the U.S. Navy. After his retirement, he found joy and purpose in his role at the Amelia Belle Casino, a place that held a special place in his heart. It was there that his warm personality and infectious smile brightened the days of those around him. He was a passionate enthusiast of classic cars, with a particular affection for his beloved Volvo. Known by all in the community, his bright and distinctive vehicle was a symbol of his spirited character. Bruce took great pride in working on his prized possession, and memories of him tinkering away under the hood will forever bring smiles to the faces of those who knew him.
He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his daughter, Doreen Scioneaux and husband Jason; five grandchildren, Devan Scioneaux, Jacob Bordelon, Jamie Scioneaux Stadalis and husband Evan, Ethan Scioneaux, Johannah Bordelon; one great-granddaughter, Ava Stadalis.
Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, Avery and Hannah Bordelon; wife, Dolores Rivera Bordelon; son, First Sergeant Michael Bordelon; grandson, Mike Bordelon.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 12:10 p.m., Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at St. Bernadette Catholic Church with Father Thainese Alphonse officiating. A rosary will be held at 11:30 a.m. before Mass. After Mass, Bruce will be laid to rest in the Berwick Cemetery next to his wife, Dolores.
