Darrell James LaSalle Sr.

May 28, 1961 — March 22, 2018

Darrell James LaSalle Sr., 56, a resident of Morgan City, passed away Thursday, March 22, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Darrell was born on May 28, 1961 in Lafayette, the son of Watson LaSalle and Celeste Duvio LaSalle.

Darrell was a true outdoors man, spending most of his waking hours outdoors. At the age of 15 he started working on the boats working his way from the bottom all the way up to Captain, where he spent the last 24 years. While working on the boat he was affectionately known as “Uncle D” to all. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his wife. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who loved spending time with his family, but his grandchildren held a special place in his heart. Darrell accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and is in heaven today.

He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife, Lona Boudreaux LaSalle of Morgan City; seven children, Darrell LaSalle Jr. and wife Rachel, Brandon LaSalle and wife Jodi, Ashley Marshall and husband Bryan, all of Franklinton, Michael Sweetser and Teena of Berwick, Michelle Sweetser and Andrew of Patterson, Kayla Boudreaux and Kimberly Jones and husband Joseph all of Morgan City; 14 grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; his mother, Celeste “Sally” Duvio Inman of Abbeville; one brother, Douglas LaSalle of Bayou Vista.

Darrell was preceded in death by his father, Watson LaSalle.
