Diny Paul Blanchard, 96, a resident of Amelia, passed away peacefully Thursday, January 20, 2022, at Assumption Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.
Diny was born September 1, 1925, in Pierre Part, the son of Meliza Blanchard and Ursula Mabile Blanchard
He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his two sons, Hansel Blanchard and wife Norma of Belle Rose, Julius Blanchard and wife Doris of Amelia; three grandchildren, Toby Blanchard, Lanette Blanchard, and Stefanie Higginbotham; four great-grandchildren, Kelsey Chase, Dalton Chaisson, Hannah Delanie, Gracie Higginbotham; two great-great grandchildren, Lennox and Stella Batiste; two sisters, Mildred Arceneaux, Flavia Barras.
Diny was preceded in death by his parents, Meliza and Ursula Blanchard; wife, Lucille Fryou Blanchard; five brothers and sisters.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 24, 2022 at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Amelia. Visitation will be held Monday, January 24, 2022 at Twin City Funeral Home from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. After Mass, Diny will be laid to rest in the St. Andrew Catholic Cemetery.
