Doris Guidry

Doris Rhodes (Macalusa) Guidry, 91, a resident of Morgan City, passed away Tuesday, May 16, 2023, surrounded by her loved ones.

Doris enjoyed spending her time gardening, hosing off her driveway, and butterflies and hearts. Doris and Lynn loved dancing.

Doris was born August 17,1931, in Morgan City, the daughter of Evans Rhodes and Doliska Tevay Rhodes.

She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband of 19 years Lynwood Guidry; one daughter, Raye Ann Bernard; four grandchildren, Dana Knowles (Shane), Ricky Broussard (Chrystal), Kara Bernard (Cody), and Nick Bernard (Luisa); seven great grandchildren, Denzel Knowles (Brittany), Daysha Knowles (Casey), Dany Knowles, Daryn Knowles, Ali Broussard (Jackson), Adam Broussard, and Aleiah Broussard; and multiple nieces and nephews.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Evans and Doliska Rhodes; one son, Wayne Macalusa, first husband Dominick Macalusa.

The Family would like to give a special thanks to Hope Healthcare and Hospice especially Emily and Reneè.

A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, May 18, 2023, at 10am in Morgan City Cemetery.
