It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Dorothy “DeeDee” Toliver on April 22, 2025, at the age of 57. Born to Maria and Jerry Duval Sr. in Key West, Florida. Dorothy was a cherished daughter, sister, aunt, and friend who touched the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know her. A resident of Morgan City, she embraced her community and created lasting connections with those around her. She was a talented and passionate cook, known for her culinary creations that brought family and friends together. Her kitchen was a haven of warmth and love, where she often gathered her loved ones for shared meals filled with laughter and joy.

Dorothy was known for her love of family and the time she dedicated to being with her loved ones. She was known for her love of drawing, using her artistic talent to bring joy and color to the lives of those around her.

A lifelong enthusiast of Harley Davidson motorcycles and music, Dorothy embraced adventure wholeheartedly, encouraging those she loved to do the same. She had a unique ability to inspire others to approach life with the same enthusiasm and joy that she embodied daily.

Dorothy is survived by mother, Maria “Betty” Duval, her siblings, James Duval (Rachel), Albert “Billy” Jaculina (Evelyn), and Bettina Duval. She is also remembered by her nieces and nephews: Chasity Leonard (Avery), Chad Duval (Amber), Harley Morales (Rohm), Bria Duval, Hannah Jaculina, Kyle Jaculina, Owen Tabor, Thiel Welch, Jacob Tacy, Elijah Duval, and Abigail Duval. Though she never had children of her own, Dorothy devotedly raised and nurtured her nieces and nephews, playing a significant role in their lives. She instilled in them her values of love, generosity, and creativity, leaving a lasting impact that they will carry with them always.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her father, Jerry Duval Sr; her husband, Artis Toliver; and one brother Jerry Duval Jr.
