Douglas Joseph Daigle Sr., 88, a resident of Gibson, passed away peacefully, Friday, April 30, 2021, at his home.
Douglas was born March 26, 1933, in Houma, the son of Claude Daigle and Juanita Lovell Daigle.
Douglas was the founder of Southern Glass in Morgan City in 1959, and branched four other businesses from there. Even at 88 years old, he was selling plexi-glass from his own business on Ebay. Douglas had a determination like no other, and that is how he created the life he did. He enjoyed traveling and going camping with his family. He was a wonderful father and grandfather and would do anything for his family.
He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of 69 years, Deanna Levron Daigle of Gibson; seven children, Angela Percle and husband Jimmy, Randy Daigle and wife Sandra, Mark Daigle and wife Dana, Michael Daigle and wife Angela, Dale Daigle and wife Gayle, Cindy Plaisance and husband Dudley, Ronnie Daigle and wife Susan; daughter-in-law, Kathleen Daigle; brother, Gerald Daigle; 29 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild.
Douglas was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Juanita Daigle; Son, Douglas Daigle Jr. “Doodie”, two granddaughters, Misty Daigle and Asia Barras.
Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Monday, May 3, 2021 at Saint Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Houma. Visitation will be held Monday, May 3, 2021 at Twin City Funeral Home from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. After services, Douglas will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery Mausoleum.
