Elizabeth Barta Schultz, 67, a resident of Broussard and former resident of Morgan City, passed away Tuesday, 12, 2019 at her home.
Elizabeth was born on November 16, 1951 in Morgan City the daughter of Julius and Mary Elizabeth Barta.
Family was very important to Elizabeth and she cherished every moment that she was able to spend with her loving husband, who she loved unconditionally for 49 years, as well as her children and her adoring grandchildren. In her younger years she was an avid bowler playing in several bowling leagues; she also loved to go fishing and play pokeno with her friends. Most recently she loved traveling to the casino with her husband, as they would spend time together playing the slot machines.
She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband of 49 years, George Schultz of Broussard; two children, Louis Schultz and wife Angelique of Broussard, Mary Dugan and husband Chris of Loreauville; five grandchildren, Lakeyn Schultz, Camryn Schultz, Sophia Dugan, Sadiya Dugan and Austin Dugan; one sister, Cindy Vela and husband Alfred of Flower Bluff, Texas; one brother, Wesley Barta of Flower Bluff, Texas.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, Julius and Mary Elizabeth Barta; one brother, James Barta.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 15, 2019 at Twin City Funeral Home with Pastor Tommy Fromenthal officiating. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the services and following the services, Elizabeth will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery.
