It is with heavy hearts and deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Elodie Mary LaHoste, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Elodie peacefully left this earthly realm on December 16, 2023, surrounded by the love of her family. She was 90 years old.
Born on December 5, 1933, in Jeanerette, Louisiana, Elodie was the epitome of warmth, kindness, and selflessness. She dedicated her life to raising her children with an abundance of love, instilling in her values of faith, compassion, and family. Elodie's nurturing spirit and unwavering devotion made her an exceptional homemaker, creating a loving and nurturing atmosphere for her family.
Elodie is survived by her sons, Calvert LaHoste, Jr. (Geniese) and Donald LaHoste; her daughters, Judy Taylor (Dennis), Brenda Hebert (Dana), and Stephanie Gagneaux; her sisters, Helen Hulin and Audrey Bergeron; her grandchildren, Nicholas, Brandon, Joshua, David, Kristen, Matthew, Andrew, Bruce Jr., and Cherish; and great-grandchildren, Olivia, Maelyn, Atlas, London, Liam, Jaiden, Jacie, MaCaylah, Sapphire, Roman, Ayden, Clare, Cambrie, Jaxon and Alex.
Elodie is preceded in death by her husband, Calvert LaHoste, Sr.; her parents, Lawrence Verret and Anita Hebert Verret; her brothers, Beverly Verret, Irvin Verret, Robert Verret, Lawrence Verret, Jr., and Gary Verret; her sisters, Beatrice Verrett, Dorothy Aucoin and Anita Mounier.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a visitation in honor of Elodie on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at Twin City Funeral Home beginning at 10:00a.m. until the Funeral Service at 1:00p.m. Interment will follow in Morgan City Cemetery.
Elodie found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She could often be found in the church, raising her voice in angelic melodies that brought comfort and solace to those who heard her. Elodie had a keen eye for fashion and loved shopping. Her creative talents extended to her favorite hobbies of sewing and cooking, where she poured her love into every stitch and dish she created.
Elodie adored her family and found immense fulfillment in caring for their needs. Her love knew no bounds, and she dedicated herself to ensuring their happiness and well-being. Her home was a haven, filled with love, laughter, and the delicious aroma of her culinary creations. Elodie's caring nature and ability to make everyone feel loved and cherished will be deeply missed.
Elodie Mary LaHoste's legacy of love, compassion, and dedication to family will forever shine brightly in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. She now rests in eternal peace, her spirit forever guiding and protecting those who hold her close.
