Evelyn Solar Duval

Evelyn Solar Duval, 77, a resident of Bayou Vista, passed away Saturday, June 1, 2019, at Terrebonne General Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family.

Evelyn was born July 20, 1941, in Morgan City, the daughter of Emile Solar Sr. and Pauline Giroir Solar.

Evelyn loved spending her time outdoors working in her flowerbed and picking blackberries. She also enjoyed cooking for her family and spending time with them. Evelyn was a jokester; she was always making her loved ones laugh and constantly putting a smile on their faces.

She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by two sons, Melvin Duval Jr. and James Duval, both of Morgan City; two daughters, Pauline Matherene and Cathy Duval, both of  Morgan City; one brother, Calvin Solar of Texas; two sisters, Vina Glynn of Plaquemine and Leona Davis of Franklin; sister-in-law and best friend, Faye Solar; four grandchildren, Cathy Crochet of Morgan City, Ambor Gaudet and husband Hunter of Berwick, Timothy Duval of Bayou Vista, and Jenny Breaux of Bayou Vista; 9 great-grandchildren, Kane and Kaleb Smith, Bailey and Bella Crochet, MariKay Duval, Ellie and Christian Jenkins, Lillian and Brayden Breaux; two godchildren, Tammy Mayon and Rodney Stansbury; special niece and nephew, Peggy Aucoin and Jordan Granger; many other nieces and nephews.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin F. Duval Sr.; son, Gordon Duval; daughter, Denise Duval; parents, Emile and Pauline Solar; three sisters, Lena Breaux, Elizabeth Stansbury, and Flavia Lodrigue; two brothers, Robert Solar and Emile Solar Jr.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, June 9, 2019, at Twin City Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services, Sunday, June 9, 2019 at Twin City Funeral Home.
