Frank L. Black Sr., 77, a resident of Morgan City, passed away on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at his home.
Frank was born on June 12, 1944 in Florida, the son of Curtis Black Sr. and Helen Baker Black.
Frank loved his family and cherished every moment that he was able to spend with them. He was a true jokester, always picking on his family and friends and they knew that Frank was always going to get the last word. Frank was always there to help anyone who was in need, especially his neighbors. Frank was an avid fisherman who enjoyed being out on the water with a pole in his hand waiting to catch that trophy fish.
He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of 55 years, Betty Metrejean Black of Morgan City; two sons, Frank Black Jr. and wife Gretchen and Chris Black and wife Alaina, both of Morgan City; seven grandchildren, Michael Black and wife Cherie, Brennan Black and wife Lacie, Gabbi Black Badeaux and husband Thomas, Sarah Black, Nicholas Black, Olivia Black and Talen Black; eight great grandchildren; one sister, Judy Leray and husband Henry of Patterson; one brother, Curtis Black Jr. of Florida.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents; two grandsons, Brendan Verrett and Tyler Black; one great grandson, Ridge Black; one sister, Patsy Huskey; one brother, Billy Black.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, October 8, 2021 at Twin City Funeral Home with Monsignor J. Douglas Courville officiating. A visitation will be held from 8:30 a.m. until the time of the service and then following the services Frank will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery Mausoleum.
