Gene Autry Pierre Hebert, 78, a resident of Amelia, passed away peacefully Monday, December 2, 2019, surrounded by his loving family.
Gene was born January 28, 1941, in Stephensville, the son of Alfred Hebert and Noelie Paray Hebert.
Gene was a commercial fisherman his whole life and he enjoyed every minute of it. Spending most of his days with his family; Gene loved his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren more than anything.
He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of 57 years, Gloria Comeaux Hebert; three daughters, Cheryl Hebert and significant other, Jerry Cherry of Amelia, Jennifer Hebert and husband Raymond of Houma, Susan Hall of Bayou Vista; one brother, Wilton Hebert and wife Arlene of Franklin; two sisters, Viola Jackson of Amelia, Louise Rodgers and husband O’Ray of Franklin; four grandchildren, Aimie Lynn Hebert, Alyssa Hebert, Caitlin Hall, Chelsea Hall; three great-grandchildren, Michaela LaBelle, Bravyn Naquin, Colt Naquin.
Gene was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Noelie Hebert; one brother; five sisters.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Amelia. Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at St. Andrew Catholic Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. After Mass, Gene will be laid to rest in St. Andrew Catholic Cemetery.
