Holly Urban Prestenbach, born on December 13, 1963, aged 60, passed away at his home surrounded by family on Sunday afternoon, March 17, 2024. Holly’s wife, Thelma Adams Prestenbach, measured his every breath until his last. Her tears washed him with her love as they experienced Heaven and Earth together, as one, as it should be. He was held up in prayer by many, far and wide, while battling cancer. And though Holly’s suffering was great and his body tired, his sense of humor and concern for those he leaves behind withstood the test of terminal illness.
All the wonders of who Holly was as man surfaces towards a new light. Stories of Holly’s patience and kindness are finally being told for the first time. The light he emitted, among his family, friends, and colleagues, will forever shine. Now he will rest in God’s light, clothed in a legacy of love, compassion, empathy and understanding; with dignity, fondness and a perpetual kindness that can never die nor ever be forgotten. Holly was a graduate of Morgan City High School and then went on to be a graduate from Nicholls State University with a degree in business.
Holly Prestenbach will be terribly missed by those who will survive without him: His wife Thelma Adams Prestenbach, a sister Robin Richard (Gerald), his children; Dusten Prestenbach, Kelli (Nicholas) Payne, Frank Adams, Jacob (Mindy) Liner; his grandchildren; Sierra Adams, Cullen Liner, Arabella Prestenbach, Gauge Liner, Shelby Liner and Lillie Payne.
Holly will be welcomed into heaven by his father Alton Prestenbach and mother Mayloa Prestenbach, as well as, Todd Prestenbach (brother), Christa Quain (sister-in-law), and Asia Barras (daughter-in-law).
The Pallbearers include: Dusten Prestenbach, Cullin Liner, Jacob Liner, Casey Richard, Dwayne Richard, Nicholas Payne, Jahiem Taylor, Tray Francis, with (Honorary Pallbearers) Gerald Richard and Gail Adams
A very special thanks goes out to those who helped take care of Holly at the end of his life: Gail Adams and Mindy Liner (nurses and family) the love and compassion they showed was a blessing. They helped Thelma’s Holly die with dignity; and with a grateful heart, Gerald and Robin Richard, Heath Prestenbach, Tonya Billiot, Teresa Adams.
