Howard L. Freeman Sr., 91, a resident of Ricohoc, passed away Thursday, September 12, 2019 at his home surrounded by his lovingly family.
Howard was born on September 22, 1927 in Morgan City, the son of John V. Freeman Sr. and Marie Viator Freeman.
Howard was a veteran of WWII serving in the United States Army Air Corp. He was widely known as the “TV Man,” being self employed as a TV technician. Mr. Freeman was a self-made man later studying to become a licensed electrician and a boat captain. He loved fishing, hunting, boating and spending time with his family.
He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of 71 years, Lola Mae Theriot Freeman of Ricohoc; five children, H.L. “Chuck” Freeman Jr. and wife Barbara, Keith R. Freeman and wife Gail, Kathleen “Kitty” Freeman Marin, Lori Freeman Rink and husband John Spangler, Melanie Freeman Highfill and husband Jeff, all of Morgan City; 11 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Howard was preceded in death by his parents, John and Marie Viator Freeman; two brothers, John Freeman Jr. and Autry Freeman; one sister, Betty Jo Tassin; numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Howard “Chuck” Freeman Jr., Keith Freeman Sr., Jake Freeman, Keith Freeman Jr., Rhett Moncrief and Seth Moncrief.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at Twin City Funeral Home with a visitation being held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service. Following services Howard will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery with Military Honors rendered by the East St. Mary Veterans Funeral Squad.
