James "Jamie" Thomas Edwards

Captain James (Jamie) Thomas Edwards, 50, a resident of Morgan City,  passed away on Friday, September 30,2022

Jamie was born November 18, 1971, the son of Gayle Fryou Bonilla.

Jamie was a humble man with love for the water expressed through his lifelong career as an accomplished boat captain and adventures with friends and family in his boat. He worked for his family when Jamie wasn’t working on the boat. He was a carpenter by hobby and was always fixing something. His major pastime was supporting his wife in all her home projects and business ventures. He was always trying to “do it right.”

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, partner, & soul mate, of 25 years, Jennifer Jill Edwards. Sons Seth Thomas Edwards and Austin Taylor McLaughlin. Mother Gayle Fryou, sister Lania Fryou, Granddaughter Lyla Rae Edwards, mother-in-law Terry Perry, Godmother Betty Aucoin, best friend Michael Howard, his beloved sidekick & dog Sug, along with 8 Aunts, 4 Uncles, and 13 First Cousins.

He is reunited with his grandparents Hazel Gros Adsit & Luke Joseph Fryou, Godfather Nolan Freyoux Sr.

Funeral services will be held at noon Monday, October 10, 2022, at Twin City Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Monday, October 10, 2022, at Twin City Funeral Home from 10:00 AM until the time of services.

We will host a continued celebration of Jamie’s life after services in the banquet room at the Clarion of Morgan City, located at 507 Roderick St.
