James Floyd Miller, 85, a resident of Morgan City, passed away peacefully at Legacy Nursing and Rehabilitation in Morgan City.
James was born November 29, 1935, in Mamou, Louisiana, the son of Wesley Miller and Victoria Rosa Miller.
James was a huge sports fan; you could always find the T.V. on playing something sports. James mostly loved football, and was an avid Saints and LSU fan. James also enjoyed watching old western movies and working on cars.
He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of 64 years, Betty Fontenot Miller of Morgan City; five children, Kenneth Miller and wife LouAnn of Henderson, Jackie Mathis and husband Chuck of Patterson, Paulette Calderia and husband Robert of Morgan City, Brian Miller and wife Michelle of Morgan City, Vicki Yanev and husband Ben of Patterson; one sister, Priscilla Duplechin of Eunice; two sister-in-laws, Margaret Muriel and Geneva Fontenot; ten grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren.
James was preceded in death by his parents, Wesley and Victoria Miller; three siblings, Jane Bracewell, Gerald and Clyde Miller; one great granddaughter, Marissa Lebouef.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Thursday, April 1, 2021 at Twin City Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at Twin City Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., and again Thursday, April 1, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. After services, James will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery Mausoleum.
