James “Slick” Roberts, 93, a resident of Morgan City, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. Slick was born January 9, 1931, in Phenix City, AL, the son of Arthur Allen Roberts and Aggie Lee Harrel Roberts.
A man of unwavering integrity and unwavering reliability, Mr. Slick was known for his exceptional work ethic and commitment to excellence. His passion for engineering was matched only by his love for flying, a hobby he enjoyed sharing with his wife as they soared through the skies just to savor a meal together. James also found solace and enjoyment in hunting, showcasing his adventurous spirit and love for the outdoors.
Throughout his life, Mr. Slick carried himself with a quiet confidence and a heart as vast as the skies he once conquered as a pilot. He was a true gentleman in every sense of the word, treating all those around him with kindness and respect.
Although Mr. Slick had many hobbies and accomplishments, his most proud accomplishment was his family. He enjoyed spending all his free time with his children and grandchildren.
He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his three children, Patrick Glenn Roberts, Leisha Roberts, Julie Roberts Holcombe, and husband Terry; five grandchildren, Brian Sharp, Melissa Abrams, Myke Abrams, Joshua Fieseler and wife Lynn, Chris Bridge; two great-grandchildren, Sarah Trice and husband Ridge, Elizabeth Sharp, three great-great grandchildren, Hadley Clark, Katherine Trice, Christopher Trice.
Mr. Slick was preceded in death by his wife, the love of his life, Dorohty Carver Roberts; parents, Arthur, and Aggie Roberts; daughter, Katrina Fiesler; grandson, Scott Sharp; sisters, Peggy Barnes, Billie Austin; two brothers, Chuck, and Gene Roberts.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, March 2, 2024, at Twin City Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Saturday, March 2, 2024, at Twin City Funeral Home, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.
Following the service, Mr. Slick will be cremated, a final farewell to a man who touched the lives of many and left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
