Jimmy L. Richard Sr. passed away at his home, Saturday November 9th, 2024, at the age of 77.
He was born in Morgan City, La. His Father, Louis J. Richard and his mother, Angeline Gros Richard.
He was a devoted husband of 55 years, married to his beloved wife Linda Pontiff Richard. They shared four children together, five grandchildren, and two fur babies. His only son Jimmy L. Richard Jr. and his significant other, Tellisha Matthews, with granddaughter Layla Richard. His eldest daughter Jamie Richard Morales and Husband Quentin Morales. His second daughter Jaci Richard with grandson Keagan Hoyt. His third daughter Jana Richard Elfassi and her husband Mohamed Elfassi with grandsons Lex Richard, Amir Elfassi, and Malik Elfassi. Daugter-in-law Lisa Richard. Surviving eldest sister Laura Richard Payne and her husband Vernon Payne. Surviving youngest brother Hamilton D. Richard and wife Frankie Richard.
Jimmy was Preceded in death by his parents. Louis and Angeline: Siblings, Eugene Richard, Ellen Richard Duval, Ervin “Picou” Richard and Horace Richard.
A church service will be held Saturday November 16, 2024 (12:30 PM) at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Morgan City. Officiating the mass is Father Brett Lappeyrouse. Immediately following the service Jimmy will be interred in the Morgan City Cemetery Mausoleum where military honors will be rendered by the Patterson Memorial VFW, 12182.
After a gathering will be held at American Legion post 242 in Patterson hwy 90.
Jimmy lived an honorable life. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army, PVT E1. After his honorable discharge from the Army became an active member of the American Legion Post 242. He retired from Halliburton after 35 years of service. When Jimmy entered any room, he spoke to every single person there. His favorite saying was “If I’m not here, I’ll be somewhere else.” His family will love and miss him dearly.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the American Legion post 242 in his loving memory.
