Jonathan Dean Brown

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jonathan “Dean” Brown Sr., who departed this life on February 21, 2025, at the age of 65. Born on September 28, 1959, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Jonathan made his home in Morgan City, Louisiana, where he touched the lives of many with his kindness and dedication to family and friends.

Jonathan had a profound love for fishing, often spending his free time by the water, where he felt at peace and found joy. He cherished the moments shared with family and friends on those sunny days, creating memories that will be treasured forever.

He was a man of few words but large in spirit, and he relished the freedom of riding his Harley motorcycle, often finding solace on the open road. Jonathan will be remembered for his warm heart and the time he devoted to his family, especially his grandkids, who brought him so much happiness.

Jonathan is survived by his devoted spouse of 47-years, Shirleen T. Brown, and their children: daughter Amber Brown and significant other Cliff and son Jonathan D. Brown Jr. and wife Ashley. He also leaves behind a loving brother, Floyd “Bubba” Brown Jr. and wife Mary, a cherished sister, Julie B. Harvin and husband Ronnie, and a legacy of grandchildren: Quinton Toups and significant other Kailey, Hailey Brown, Jonathan “Jon Jon” D. Brown III, and great- granddaughter Adeline G. Toups.

Jonathan was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd R. Brown Sr. and Julia W. Brown, and his brother Earl D. Brown.
