Judith “Judy” Ellen Lowry Gaddy, 89, a longtime resident of Berwick, passed away on January 13, 2020 at Maison Jardin Assisted Living Facility.
Judy was born on March 19, 1930 in Sunny South, Alabama the daughter of Robert and Velma Englett Lowry.
Judy was completely devoted to her husband George and spent many hours working with him in the garden as well as providing a beautiful home for her family. Judy was always very proud of the fact that she and George were able to provide a college education for each of their three children. Judy was longtime member of Immanuel Baptist Church where she was actively involved in all aspects of church ministry from teaching to cleaning.
She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by two sons, Robert George Gaddy and wife Cathy of Chandler, Arizona and Charles Paul Gaddy and wife Stacey of Dallas, Texas; one daughter, Kay Arceneaux and husband Dirk of Stephensville. Her grandchildren include Robert’s children, Keith and Rene, Charles’ children, Kristen and Bella, and Kay’s children, Christina and Joshua. Judy had nine great grandchildren, Alaura, Brayden, Krystin, Jayden, Jackson, Austin, Reece, Jude and Ryder. Judy was one of four sisters, two of whom survive her, Peggy Chance of Selma, Alabama and Bobbie Parker of Sunny South, Alabama.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Velma Lowry, her husband, George Gaddy; one sister, Jeanette.
Immanuel Christian School, a ministry of Immanuel Baptist Church, was near and dear to Judy’s heart. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be given to the school in Judy’s loving memory.
A visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at Twin City Funeral Home with a funeral service being held at 5:30 p.m., with longtime friend and deacon, James Kyle officiating. A private family interment will be held in the Morgan City Cemetery.
