Katherine "Kay" Copeland Ritchie Raymond

Katherine “Kay” Copeland Ritchie Raymond, 71, a native of Cleveland, OK, and a resident of Patterson, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. 

Kay dedicated her life to helping others, most notably her career at St. Mary Outreach. Katherine began helping those in the community who had fallen upon difficult times when she began her tenure at St. Mary Outreach as a volunteer. During her 28 years, Kay moved from part-time caseworker to eventually becoming the Executive Director. Katherine also served as president of the Morgan City Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, and was active in her church, Trinity Episcopal, where she served as a member of the Altar Guild and Episcopal Church Women’s group. 

Kay is survived by her husband of 53 years, Michael Lynn Raymond, Sr.; two daughters, Rhonda Raymond Dennis and husband James “Doyle”, Heather Raymond Blair, and husband James “Bo”; son, Ray John Raymond; nine grandchildren, Sean Dennis, Austin Blair (Sarajane Nini), Lauren Blair Sanders (Kenny), Lindsay Blair Davis (Kaleb), Kelsie Raymond, Ray Raymond Jr., Isaiah Raymond, Andrea Raymond, and Ashley Raymond; Three great-grandchildren, Liam Sanders, Greyson Sanders, Sienna Davis;  sister, Mary Alice Smith (Ray) and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her son, Michael Raymond Jr.; parents, Ray John Copeland, and Mary Goward Copeland Ritchie; sister, Lana Jean Thompson. 

The family would like to give a special thank you to Heart of Hospice for all their gracious love and care to Kay. 

A memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at Twin City Funeral Home from 4:00pm until 8:00pm with a memorial service at 6:00pm.
