Kathy Fontenot Sons

Kathy Jo Fontenot Sons, 59, a resident of Berwick, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, December 11, 2019, surrounded by her loving family.

Kathy Jo was born September 8, 1960, in Bunkie, Louisiana, the daughter of Lee H. Fontenot and Geneva Blood.

Kathy Jo was an extraordinarily selfless woman. The love she had for her family goes beyond a normal mother’s love. She enjoyed spending time outdoors, boating with her husband,  gardening and visiting with her family. Family meant everything to Kathy Jo, and she would do whatever needed for them. She shared a special bond with her grandkids and great grandkids.

She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband, Lynnwood Sons Sr; four daughters, Amanda Free of Beeville, TX, Lodie Lerma and husband Ralph of Stockdale, TX., Brittany Sons of Youngsville, Tiffany Floyd and husband Ricky of Freeport, FL.; three sons, Gregory Free and wife Pami of Morgan City, Craig Free of Berwick, Lynnwood Sons Jr. and wife Hailey of Baldwin; three sisters, Peggy Smith and husband Daryle of Pine Prairie, Betty Chaumont and husband Danny of Pine Prairie, Mary Dixon and husband Eric of Bayou Chicot;  three brothers, Shawn Fontenot and wife Samantha of Turkey Creek, LA., Lee Brandon Fontenot and wife Leigh of Bayou Chicot, Chris Murphy and wife Dawn of Iota, LA.; 15 grandchildren,  Charlie Shae, McKenzie Taylor, Andrew, Julie, Rylie, McKenzie LeeAnn, Gregory, Jeslyn, Kennedy, Cheyenne, Liam, Layla, Ally, Laila, and  Collin; two great-grandchildren, Levi and Rezzie.

Kathy Jo was preceded in death by her parents, Lee H Fontenot and Geneva Blood Canniff.

Upon Kathy Jo’s wishes, a private memorial service will be held at a later date.
