Lawrence Austin Welch Jr.

Lawrence Austin Welch Jr., 61, a resident of Amelia, LA, passed away on Monday, December 5, 2022.

Lonnie, as his friends called him, was born on December 19, 1960 in Sulphur, LA.  He was a longtime employee of Bayou Boeuf Electric where he worked as a sales associate.  Lonnie enjoyed riding motorcycles, hunting and fishing with his family and friends.  

He will be lovingly remembered by his sons, Lawrence A. Welch III (wife Calyn S. Welch) and Thiel A. Welch; his father, Lawrence A. Welch, Sr. and stepmother, Virginia Welch; his siblings, Tonya Ourso and Brett Geisler; his grandchildren, Lawrence A. Welch IV and Parrish S. Welch; numerous nieces, nephews, and plenty of other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, June Fox Geisler and stepfather, Albert Geisler; his sister, Gina Farrington; his brother-in-law, Dane Farrignton; his maternal grandparents, Ella Snead Fox and Robert Fox, Sr.; his grandmother, Icy Frieu; his grandfather, Paul Frieu.
