Leatrice Marie Acosta, a devoted and beloved member of her family, passed away on December 29, 2023, at the age of 87. Born on April 2, 1936, in Stephensville, Louisiana, Leatrice lived a life dedicated to the well-being and happiness of her loved ones.
Leatrice is survived by her daughters, Peggy A. Fulker (Douglas) and Betty A. Fuselier (John); her son, Ivan Acosta, Sr. (Kathy); her sisters, Viney Acosta and Emilda Landry; her brother, Jimmie Eues; her grandchildren, Traci Vaugn, Becky Aucoin, Ivan Acosta, Jr., Michele Grizzaffe, Keith Daigle, Timothy Daigle, Adam Acosta, Holly Naquin, Joel Daigle, Dane Daigle; and 22 great-grandchildren.
Leatrice is preceded in death by her husband, Eroy Joseph Acosta; her parents, Clement and Gladys Eues; her son, Harris Acosta; her brothers, Ervin Eues, Eugene Eues, and Russell Eues.
Leatrice was the epitome of selflessness, always putting her family's needs before her own. Her days were filled with cooking delicious meals, caring for her family, and working tirelessly to ensure their comfort and happiness. She found joy in the simple moments, cherishing every opportunity to create lasting memories with her loved ones.
In addition to her devotion to her family, Leatrice had a passion for dancing. While she was able, she would light up the dance floor with her graceful moves, spreading joy and laughter to everyone around her. She also had a fondness for collecting trinkets, each one representing a cherished memory or moment in her life.
Leatrice's legacy will forever be remembered by her loved ones. She will be deeply missed by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, as well as her extended family and friends. Her unwavering love, guidance, and support will continue to resonate in the hearts of all those who were fortunate enough to have known her.
The funeral service to honor Leatrice's life will take place on January 4, 2024, at 11:00 am at Holy Cross Catholic Church. Prior to the service, a public viewing will be held at Twin City Funeral Home on January 3, 2024, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. On the day of the funeral, there will be a public viewing at the funeral home from 9:00 am to 10:45 am. Interment will take place immediately following the service at Morgan City Cemetery.
Leatrice Marie Acosta may be gone, but her spirit will live on through the memories shared with her loved ones. Her capacity for love, her dedication to her family, and her unyielding kindness will forever be cherished. May she rest in eternal peace.
