Leonard Landry

Leonard Joseph Landry, 87, passed away peacefully Saturday, June 8, 2024, at Patterson Healthcare. 

He was born May 27, 1937, in Stephensville, the son of Leon Landry and Eva Gros Landry.

He worked on tugboats for 54 years and was the fire chief for Stephensville Volunteer Fire Department for 20 years. Leonard loved to do for his community; he also enjoyed bass fishing and working in his garden. Leonard gave away most of what he made; he loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

Leonard was married to the love of his life Mazie, for 66 years. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his five children, Virginia Moxley and husband Henry, Harold Landry and wife Susan, Penny Gros and husband Junius, Valarie Mahfouz and husband John, Rebecca Fabre and husband Jody; nine grandchildren, Tabatha Broussard and husband Jeremy, Alicia Moxley, Raven Mendez and husband Jose, Matthew Gros, Dustin Gros and wife Mariah, Vanessa Jackson, Thomas Mahfouz and wife Meghan, Sean Mahfouz and wife Brittany, Viola Voisin and husband Ernie; ten great-grandchildren, Abigail Broussard, Gaven Mendez, Jase Mendez, Jordin Jackson, Reed Jackson, Sarah Mahfouz, Samuel Mahfouz, Sylvia Mahfouz, Scott Voisin, and Chloe Mahfouz; siblings, Damon Landry and wife Katherine, Barbara Eues and husband Butch, Susanna Kendrick; sisters-in-law, Bursie Landry, Lorraine Landry, and Mary Landry. 

Leonard was preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Eva Landry; sisters, Alberta and Velma Landry; brothers, Leroy, Ronald, and Michael Landry; two grandchildren, Jacob Gros and Brandon Fabre.

Pallbearers will be Harold, Matthew, Dustin, Thomas, Sean, Andrew Gros Jr., Gaven and Jase Mendez. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at Holy Cross Catholic Church with Father Francis officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at Twin City Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m., until 9:00 p.m., and then again Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at Twin City Funeral Home from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. 

After Mass, Leonard will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery with his wife, Mazie.
