Lois Gros Fryou

Lois Gros Fryou, 86, passed away September 11, 2022 at her home, surrounded by her loved ones.  

Lois was born on February 25, 1936, to Elphege “Popcorn” Gros and Carrie Breaux Gros. She was the Salutatorian of her graduating class from Sacred Heart Academy. Her faith was shared with her family through her love and compassion. She was a devout Catholic and an active parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister, CCD aid, and a bereavement team member.

She loved the outdoors and spent her time fishing and shrimping for many years. Her backyard was always a picturesque scene filled with her beautiful flowers and plants, where she enjoyed spending time with her loving family.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Lester Fryou Sr. of Morgan City; her three sons, Lester “L.J.” Fryou and wife Donna, Kevin Fryou Sr. and wife Marie, Mark Fryou and wife Niki; seven grandchildren, Daniel Fryou and wife Brandy, Jenny D’Arensbourg and husband Paul, Kevin Fryou Jr. and wife Mandy, Mandi Keigley and husband Jason, Matthew Fryou and wife Nicole, Brady Fryou and wife Taylor, Rhett Fryou and fiancé Emily LaCoste; 11 great-grandchildren.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents, Elphege and Carrie Gros.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at Twin City Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and again Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. After Mass, Lois will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery Mausoleum
