Lonnie Dale Gaspard

Lonnie Dale Gaspard, 63, a resident of Belle River, passed away Friday, November 1, 2019 at Ochsner St. Mary.

Lonnie was born on October 5, 1956 in Morgan City, the son of Prosser Gaspard and Olive Suire Gaspard.

Lonnie was a true family man, cherishing every moment he was able to spend with his children and grandchildren. He was someone who could strike up a conversation with anyone and before the conversation was over, they were friends; he truly never met a stranger. Lonnie had a bright spirit that radiated from him to everyone around him.  He was a true kid at heart and always loved to make people laugh. He was a welder by trade and when he wasn’t working enjoyed fishing and going to the camp.

He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of 42 years, Paula Kelso Gaspard of Belle River; five children, Brad Gaspard and wife Vickie of Pierre Part, Jennifer Gaspard Dupre and husband Kelly Jr. of Morgan City, Jessica Gaspard Guillory and husband Benji of Gibson, Kevin Gaspard and wife Jamie of Pierre Part, Krista Gaspard Metrejean and husband Mark of Napoleonville; 12 grandchildren, Layla, Kade, Emily, Averi, Broox, Brooklyn, Colton, Grayson, Carson, Claire, Chloe and Colbie; one sister, Laura Dupre of Pierre Part; two brothers, Ernest Gaspard and wife Sue of Morgan City, Vernon Gaspard and wife Deborah of Bayou L’Ourse.

Lonnie was preceded in death by his parents, Prosser and Olive Suire Gaspard; his grandparents; one brother-in-law, Leroy Dupre Jr.; one nephew, Leroy Dupre III.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at Twin City Funeral Home with Pastor Doug Watson officiating. A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service and following the services Lonnie will be laid to rest in the Church of God of Prophecy Cemetery in Belle River.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the family.
