Mary Gros Espinal

Mary Gros Espinal, 58, a resident of Amelia, passed away Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans, surrounded by her loving family.

 

Mary was born October 9, 1964, in Morgan City, the daughter of Andrew Gros Sr. and Denise Blanchard Gros.

 

Mary was a very humble, down-to-earth person; she would do for others before herself and working at Stazione in Morgan City for 21 years as a cashier, Mary knew many people in her community, and brought joy to everyone that she served. Mary lived and breathed for her grandchildren, she loved spending time with them and the rest of her family. Mary enjoyed being in the kitchen, whether it was cooking or baking. Everyone would call her for the current sales; Mary loved couponing and could always find the best deals.

 

She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her three children, Tania Espinal Jimenez and husband Hector, Ashley Espinal, and Elmer D.J.” Espinal Jr.; like a daughter, Jaci Campbell; seven grandchildren, Seth Burbante, Jose De La Cruz, Elizabeth De La Cruz, Allison Jimenez, Daniela Espinal, Hector “Bebe” Jimenez, Donnie Espinal; nine siblings, Sheryl Doiron, Gloria Landry, Andrew Gros Jr. (Ethel), Dorohty Gros (Jean), LeAnn Gros (Albert), David Gros (Leisha), Tommy Gros (Annie), Eve Falcon and Adam Gros; mother-in-law, Nivia Bonilla; best friend, Denise Rock Arceneaux; two brothers-in-law, Jose “Tito” Espinal and wife Melissa, William "Nitty" Aucoin; sister-in-law, Miriam Espinal, Yamely Matos and husband Edwin.

 

Mary is finally reunited with her husband, Elmer “Donnie” Espinal Sr. She is also preceded in death by her parents; father-in-law, Paulino Espinal Vilorio; one sister, Nancy Aucoin; three brothers-in-law, Brent Doiron Sr., Henry Landry, and Nelson Espinal; sister-in-law, Denise Gros; nephew, Austin Boudreaux and David Gros Jr.

 

Visitation will be held Friday, September 29, 2023, at Twin City Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m., until 10:00 p.m. Visitation will resume Saturday, September 30, 2023 at St. Andrew Catholic Church from 8:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at 10:00 a.m. with Father Mike Tran officiating. After Mass, Mary will be laid to rest in the St. Andrew Catholic Cemetery.
