Mary Fontenot Guidry

Mary Fontenot Guidry, a lifelong resident of Berwick, and a current resident of Patterson, passed away Thursday, February 18, 2021 at her home.  

Mary was born May 17, 1962, in Mamou, Louisiana, the daughter of Hebert Fontenot Sr. and LeeAnna Jagneaux Fontenot.

Mary had a big heart, and that created an even bigger family. Though Mary only had four children, she was a “mom” and “grandma” to many others. Mary took in everyone under her wing, and loved them hard, with all of her being. Mary didn’t have many hobbies, but her grandchildren were the only hobby she needed; her grandchildren kept her busy and on her toes.

She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband of 40 years, Weston Guidry of Patterson; three sons, Andrew Goleman Guidry of Berwick, Weston Guidry III and wife Monie of Taft, TX., Brandon Guidry and wife Libby of Patterson; one daughter, Sasha Mayon and husband Jason of Bayou Vista; one brother, Hebert Fontenot Jr. and wife Brandy of Bayou L’Ourse; Sarah East of Vinton, LA, Debra Jagneaux of Patterson; thirteen grandchildren, Caleb, Morgan, Carson, Aden, Selah, Aryana, Brandon Jr., Brennon, Marikay, Braylee, Jordan, Jevon, and Kenleigh; Best friend, Marie Bergeron; many aunts and uncles.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Hebert and LeeAnna Fontenot; grandson, Devon.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 21, 2021 at Twin City Funeral Home with Pastor Den officiating. Visitation will be held Sunday, February 21, 2021 at Twin City Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m., until the time of services.
