Michael Joseph Landry, 75, a resident of Stephensville, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, July 1, 2020 at Thibodaux Regional Medical Center surrounded by his wife and children.
Mike was born July 4, 1944, in Stephensville, the son of Leon Landry and Eva Gros Landry.
In his earlier life, Mike enjoyed fishing and deer hunting. He was a very patriotic man who loved everything red, white, and blue. Mike also loved eagles and owned many eagle statues that he kept proudly around his home. Mike loved his wife, Mary, very much and they would have celebrated their 56th anniversary on his birthday, the Fourth of July. Mike enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, and always enjoyed being with family.
He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of 56 years, Mary Metrejean Landry; four children, Perry Landry and wife Lee Anne of Stephensville, Pauline Landry Morgan and husband Danny of Watson, Faron Landry and companion Meryl Borne of Belle River, and Loretta Landry Duval of Stephensville; two brothers, Leonard Landry and wife Mazie of Stephensville, Damon Landry and wife Katherine of Stephensville; two sisters, Barbara Landry Eues and husband Albert “Butch” of Stephensville, Susanna “Susie” Landry Kendrick of Baton Rouge; 7 grandchildren, Joseph “Joey” Morgan and wife Maria, Mallory Morgan, Kayla Landry, Michael Chauvin, Amy Morgan Thompson and husband Chris, Jeremy “J.J.” Duval, Mayah Landry; five great-grandchildren Elizabeth “Lizzie” Landry, Emma Morgan, Dane Thompson, Colton Morgan, Lydia Thompson.
Pallbearers will be Perry Landry, Faron Landy, Jeremy “J.J.” Duval, Danny Morgan, Michael Chauvin, and Chris Thompson. Honorary pallbearer will be Joseph “Joey” Morgan.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Eva Landry; two brothers, Ronald Landry and Leroy Landry; two sisters, Alberta Landry, Velma Landry.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, July 3, 2020 at Twin City Funeral Home with Father Patrick Riviere officiating; Amy Thompson and Kayla Landry will be doing the readings, and Bethany Crochet will begin and end the service in a song. Visitation will be held Friday, July 3, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Twin City Funeral Home. After services, Mike will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery.
