Nathan John Zerangue, 78, a resident of Bayou Vista passed away peacefully on Tuesday October 4, 2022 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Nathan was born in Arnaudville on May 21, 1944, the son of Ernest and Irene Bergeron Zerangue. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather that enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a hard worker who could fix anything, and loved to hunt and fish with his sons. In his spare time he enjoyed working in his garden and playing with his dog Lily.
He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of 35 years, Dolores Dugas Zarangue, six children: Denise LaPoint of Bayou Vista, Kenny Zerangue and wife Chony of Patterson, Carolyn Landreneau and husband Chris Sr. of Port Barre, Christine Leonard and husband Clay of Berwick, Bliss Roy of Berwick, Jay Zerangue and wife Amy of Morgan City; one sister, Thelma Dekerlegand of Berwick; 15 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; and Nathan’s number one friend, his dog Lily. Nathan was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Irene Zerangue; three siblings A.J. Zerangue, Delores Stelly, and Ricky Zerangue.
Pallbearers are Jay Zerangue, Scottie Zerangue, Reed Leonard, Aidynn LeCompte, William LaPoint Jr., and Trampas LaPoint.
Honorary pallbearers include Kenny Zerangue, Clay Leonard, and Chris Landreneau Sr.
Private services will be held and Nathan will be laid to rest in the Mausoleum at Berwick Cemetery.
