Oristile Sons Jr.

Oristile Sons Jr., 80, a resident of Patterson, passed away on Thursday, September 16, 2021 at Lafayette General Medical Center.

Oristile was born on April 4, 1941 in Berwick, the son of Aristile Sons and Jessie Givens Sons.

Oristile was a true family man, cherishing every moment that he was able to spend with his family. Of the times spent with family, camping with his grandbabies and other family members is what he truly enjoyed. He loved to cook for his family, with barbequing being his specialty, and when he fired up the pit, everyone came to eat. He was a true man of God and a faithful member of New Life Tabernacle Church. Oristile was always there for anyone who needed him, if someone was down on their luck and needed some help, even though he didn’t have much, he always helped those in need, whether that was a place to sleep or something to eat.

He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by three children, Patrick Sons and wife Sandra of Napoleonville, Cathy Landrum and husband Daniel of Garden City and Kim Pillaro and husband Jerry of Morgan City; 12 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; one sister, Rosie Miller of Bayou Vista.

Oristile was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Helen Businelle Sons; five children, Oristile Sons III, Charles Longon Sons, Danny Sons, Ricky Sons and Karen Sue Sons; six brothers, Wilbur Sons, James Sons, Homer Sons, Earl Sons, Floyd Sons, Burl Sons; two sisters, Rachel Toups and Winnie Hinkle.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 24, 2021 at Twin City Funeral Home with Pastor Justin Lee officiating. A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 23, 2021 at Twin City Funeral Home with the visitation resuming on Friday at the funeral home from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the services. Following the services, Orisitle will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery.
