Ralph Charles Opperman, 71, a resident of Berwick, passed away November 24, 2018, at home surrounded by his loving family.
Ralph was born June 21, 1947 in Morgan City, the son of John Opperman and Helen Lombas Opperman.
Ralph was a hard working man; he worked for Bob's heating and Air for over 37 years. On his time off, Ralph enjoyed spending time with his loving wife, Pechie, family, friends and his pets. He also enjoyed going down the bayou to the camp and going fishing, crabbing, and building barn fires with his friends. Ralph also enjoyed playing spoons and just having a good time. He was a proud Army vet who served and loved our country.
Ralph will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of 23 years, Perpetua "Pechie" Garza Opperman; one son, Ronald Wayne Opperman and spouse Rikki of Oklahoma City; one daughter, Pamela Opperman Wagster and spouse Michael of Omaha, NE.; two step-sons, Barry Roberts and Peter Roberts of Berwick; one brother, Robert "Bob" Opperman and spouse Charlotte of Patterson; 8 grandchildren, Briana Roberts, Kaitlyn Cudd, Victoria Cudd, Ashley Hinajosa, Hayley Wagster and fiance Patrick Christel, Brooke Tabor and spouse Shannon, John Opperman, and Dakoda Opperman; 5 great-grandchildren, Chase, Kennedi, Jett, Serinity, and Dayton.
Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, Helen and John Opperman.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at Twin City Funeral Home. Visitation will resume from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at Crossing Place Church in Bayou Vista. Services will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Den Hussey officiating. After services, Ralph will be laid to rest in the Berwick Cemetery Mausoleum. Military honors will be done by the East St. Mary Veterans Funeral Squad.
