Rodney Joseph Stansbury, 67, a native of Morgan City, passed away on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at his residence in Rayne.
Rodney was a crane operator for Diamond M Drilling for many years. He was the youngest crane operator in the Gulf of Mexico. He was the owner of Blowout Lounge in Morgan City for over 30 years. Rodney was a loving grandfather, father and brother. He enjoyed working with his son, taking cruises and traveling. Rodney will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Rodney is survived by his companion, Rhonda Wirtz; his son, Rodney A. Stansbury and his wife, Rene; his daughter, Christy Trahan and her husband, Anthony; his grandchildren, Dylan Gauthier, Aaron Stansbury, Rodney Anthony Stansbury, Kristin Trahan; his brothers, Albert “Al” (Cindy) Stansbury and Robert “Bobby” Stansbury; his sisters, Sheila (Steve) Pauley and Peggy (Mike) Aucoin; his step-children, Wiltz (Terri) Grow, Roger Grow, Ronald “Ronnie” Grow, Sonya Chapman, Kirk Anslum, Nicole Nelson, Jason Hubler. Rodney is also survived by numerous step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
Rodney was proceeded in death by his parents, Albert and Elizabeth Stansbury; and his sister, Deborah Romero.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at Twin City Funeral Home beginning at 10:00am until the Funeral Service at 2:00pm. Internment will follow in Morgan City Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Rodney A. Stansbury, Aaron Stansbury, Rodney Anthony Stansbury, Dylan Gauthier, Ronnie Grow, Jarret Grow. Honorary Pallbearer will be Anthony Trahan and Robert “Bobby” Stansbury.
