Rogers Roy Kennerson Sr.

Rogers Roy Kennerson Sr., 69, a resident of Broussard, passed away Friday, September 21, 2018 at The Carpenter House Hospice Facility surrounded by his loving family.  

Rogers was born January 21, 1949 in Pearl River, Louisiana, the son of Marion Barton Kennerson and Hazel Barnes Ladiner.

Rogers loved to spend time with his grandchildren, spend his days fishing, and going to the casino to gamble with friends and family.

Rogers will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of 41 years, Paulette Landry Kennerson of Lafayette; two sons, Randy Kennerson and wife Paula of Iowa and Rogers Kennerson Jr. of Georgia; four daughters, Dawn Kennerson and partner Tommy Soulier of Texas, Kimberly Darbonne and husband Paul of Lafayette, Rachel Gautreaux and husband Carl of Lafayette, and Mary Kennerson of Slidell; two sisters, Marilyn Slatton and husband Wayne of Florida and Brenda Krummell of Texas; 7 grandchildren, Kasie Guarisco, Seth Edwards, Leah Gautreaux, Alese Darbonne, Macy Darbonne, Destiny Kennerson, and Mathew Kennerson; one great-grandson, Jackson Kennerson.

Rogers was preceded in death by his parents Marion Kennerson and Hazel Ladiner; two brothers, Glynn Kennerson and Barton Kennerson.

A memorial service will be held in Rogers' honor at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, September 27, 2018, at Twin City Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Porter officiating. A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until the time of service.
