Shane William Carnley Sr., 52, a resident of Bayou L’Ourse, passed away on Monday, September 13, 2021 at Baton Rouge General Medical Center.
Shane was born on September 8, 1969 in Morgan City, the son of Ronnie Carnley Sr. and Geneieva Ohmer Carnley.
Shane was the oldest of 6 siblings and the protector of them all. His parents first son and always “momma’s boy”, he never missed a day to call or text his mom to tell her that he loved her, even at 52. Throughout his childhood and high school, he excelled in baseball and football. He loved hunting and fishing and spending time with his family. He was the hardest worker and strongest fighter; he was brave. Most importantly, he loved being a father and a husband. He always had a huge smile on his face followed by a bigger, one-of-a-kind hug. Shane loved his family and friends and never missed an opportunity to tell them that he loved them or to make them laugh. He will be missed every single day, until we meet again.
He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife Christi Kelly Carnley of Bayou L’Ourse; two sons, Mason Carnley and Shane William Carnley Jr., both of Bayou L’Ourse; his mother, Geneieva Ohmer Carnley of Bayou Vista; his father, Ronnie Carnley Sr. of Grant, Louisiana; five siblings, Ronnie Carnley Jr. of Broadway, Virginia, Tiffany McIntyre of Stanton, Virginia, Trish Gaudet and husband Howard of Bayou Vista, Jamie Carnley and wife Heather of Waldron, Arkansas, Troy Carnley of Morgan City; numerous nieces and nephews.
Shane was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Phillip Ohmer and Helen Verret Ohmer Solar; paternal grandparents, William Douglas Carnley Sr. and Phyllis Laffey; brother, Cody Ellis.
