Steven Douglas Hebert Sr.

September 11, 1953 — September 15, 2019

Steven D. Hebert, Sr., 66, passed away peacefully, Sunday, September 15, 2019, at his home in Bayou Vista after a short battle with cancer. Steven was born the son of Charles E. and Joan P. Hebert, longtime residents of Morgan City.

Steven will be lovingly remembered as a man who loved the outdoors. As a young boy he was always eager to bring home a snake, turtle, or alligator for his parents, or siblings, to see. He was a person that his friends could count on in times of need. During his younger years he worked hard in the oil & gas industry. A man who knew his way around a BBQ pit, stove, and boiling pot. He could always be found cooking up something and enjoying a few cold ones in the process.

Steven is survived by his father, Charles E. Hebert, Sr., of Morgan City; two children, Steven D. Hebert, II, and wife Patricia of Lafayette, Shelly Bougere and husband Dennis of Bayou L’Ourse; four grandchildren, Chase Hebert, Clayton Hebert, Isaiah Bougere, Ayden Bougere; six siblings, John C. Hebert, Sr. and wife Peggy of Magnolia Tx, Janelle H. Yurosky and husband Andrew of Morgan City, Jean Hebert and fiancée Tim Rochel of Patterson, Charles E. Hebert, Jr. of Morgan City, Carol H. Carroll and husband Rick of Youngsville, Jennifer H. Dreher and husband Gene of Broussard.

Steven was preceded in death by his mother, Joan P. Hebert.

As per his wishes, Steven’s body was donated for the study of cancer. A private memorial will be held at a later date.

The family would like to give a heartfelt special thanks to Ryan Yager, and the Twin City Staff for guidance during these trying times.
