Vickie Ann Blanchard Turner, 57, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 7, 2020, with her family by her side.
She was born on February 24, 1963, to Linus and Shirley Blanchard.
Vickie graduated from High School in 1980. She married Gary Turner in 1981. They soon welcomed five children to their family. Michael, in ’82, Daniel ‘84, Jennifer ‘90, James ‘93, and finally Rachel in ‘95.
Her children were her pride and joy.
She homeschooled all five of her children and watched them graduate and get married.
Vickie was blessed to be a grandmother to 1 granddaughter, and 3 grandsons.
Vickie loved to sew, embroider, and enjoyed many other handcrafted things that she used to bring joy to those around her. She loved to use her time to make puzzles, and crafts for her family and loved ones and she would write letters of encouragement to any who needed it. Also, she was a woman of strong faith and she shared that with many and that hope and strong principles made her the beautiful person that she was inside and out.
She battled an aggressive cancer for 2 years. Many doctor visits, hospital stays, chemo, and several surgeries followed. However, more painful than her illness was the grief she endured from losing precious loved ones in death, her mother, her sister, and her oldest son.
Throughout her life and despite all her struggles, she remained faithful to her God, Jehovah. She looked forward to the Bible's hope of living forever on a paradise earth. On October 25, 1975 she dedicated her life as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She especially loved to volunteer her time to share her hope with others to provide them with spiritual encouragement. She was tremendously loved by her family and friends and she will always hold a special place in their hearts.
A private funeral service will be held at Twin City Funeral Home in Morgan City, LA.
