With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Wyanette Hanks Monceaux, who departed this world on May 31, 2024. She was born on March 2, 1939, in Morse, LA. She was a long time employee of MC Bank before retirement.
She is survived by four children, Sue Billiot and husband Ken of Arkansas, Rachel Wells and husband Elmer of Bayou Vista, Randal Monceaux and wife Debbie of Berwick, Kevin Monceaux and wife Mable of Patterson, nine grandchildren, Chantel Guidry and husband Joey of Bayou Vista, Michelle Landry and husband Ross of Youngsville, Travis Billiot and wife Pam of Jeanerette, Sangel Billiot and husband Chris of Mississippi, Courtney Wells of Bayou Vista, Brandon Monceaux and wife Amber of Berwick, Drew Monceaux and wife Melissa of Morgan City, Paula Harrington and husband David of Patterson, Jessica LaSalle and husband Doug of Bayou Vista; thirteen great-grandchildren, Alexis Barrilleaux, Dillian Billiot, Alex Landry, Kaitlyn Billiot, Zachari Billiot, Bayley Delcambre, Alyssa Delcambre, Breckin Monceaux, Lily Meridieth, Dylan Harrington, Zoie Harrington, Landyn LaSalle, Elijah LaSalle, Alayna LaSalle; five great-great-grandchildren, Hayden Barrilleaux, Miles Barrilleaux, Audrie Barrilleaux, Bayne Barrilleaux, Ethan Cooper, Ayden Picard; sister-in-law, Ora Johnelle "PeeWee" Bergeaux of Jennings; nieces, Sally Simon of Louisiana and Sulane McFarlin of Lousisana.
Wyanette is preceded in passing by her husband, Bobby Ray Monceaux; her parents, Joseph Hanks and Theresa Hanks; brothers, Joseph Wayne Hanks and Lewis Hanks (infant); father and mother-in-law, Ovey Monceaux and Mildred Faust; aunt, Ann Sanches; cousin, Pat Monceaux; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to celebrate Wyanette’s life on Monday, June 3, 2024, at Twin City Funeral Home, beginning at 6:00p.m. until 9:00p.m, with a rosary starting at 7:00p.m. Visitation will resume on Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at Twin City Funeral Home beginning at 8:00a.m. until 9:30a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00a.m. at St. Stephen Catholic Church. Wyanette will be laid to rest immediately following the service in Berwick Cemetery. Reception to follow the services at 3020 Third Street in Berwick.
