Yvonne Verret Norris of Labadieville La, 93 years of age, passed away May 25, 2023, at her home surrounded by her family.
Yvonne was proceeded in death by her husband, Oscar Norris, her parents William and Velma Verret, three sisters, Edna Babineaux, Delores LaJaunie and Elise Vaughn and step-son Glen Norris.
Yvonne leaves behind her daughters, Connie Ellis, Judith Morrison and Lisa Ellis (Gary Ellis). Also, two sisters, Patricia Coffman and Jennie Mire; five grandchildren, Heather Gagliano, Shaina Toups, Casey Gros (Boogie Gros), Shaye Toups (Brooke Toups) and Gary Ellis, Jr. (Lacey Ellis), Great grandchildren, Nicholas Gagliano, Alyssa DeHart (Haley DeHart), Carson Gagliano, Hayes Toups, Shaelyn Toups, Paige Arnouville, Jolie Toups, Gracie Gagliano, Leslie Ellis, Bree Gros, Alexia Stratton, Trystin Gilbert and Parker Ellis and five great, great grandchildren, Kendal DeHart, Risely DeHart, Bentley Prejeant, Walker Toups, and Baker Gagliano.
Yvonne loved sewing, gardening, crafting, reading, cooking and baking for family gatherings, quilting, hunting, fishing and love for her country. Most of all she loved being surrounded by grandchildren. They were very blessed with forever cherished memories of singing, dancing, sitting for hours to play a game of Rummy, vacations in Destin for two weeks with family every year. She was loved by many outside of family and loved visits from all. Yvonne, Mom, Mimi Bon, Mimi Barnes, Aunt Yvonne, were names she was called by all that loved her. She will surely be missed!
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 29, 2023, at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Amelia. Visitation will be held Monday, May 29, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services. After Mass, Yvonne will be laid to rest in St. Andrew Cemetery.
